Thank you for choosing HisabDiary. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the application.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the App includes:

• Personal Data: Demographic and other personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, and phone number) that you voluntarily give to us when you register for the application and use features like multi-shop authentication. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google to create and manage your account.
• Financial and Business Data: Information related to your shops, expenses, reports, and sales that you input into the application to utilize its core features.
• Contact List / Phonebook Data: With your explicit permission, the application accesses your device's address book to let you search and select customer contact details (name and phone number) when creating ledger entries or sending payment reminders. We only read this contact information locally on your device. We do not upload your full contact list or address book to our servers or share it with third parties. Only the specific contact information you choose to select is stored to associate with your transactions.
• Derivative Data and Device Information: Information our servers automatically collect when you access the App, such as your native actions that are integral to the App, including your device ID, model, operating system version, and usage details.

2. Local Data Storage

HisabDiary uses local storage mechanisms (such as AsyncStorage) on your device to store your settings, shop preferences, and session information. This enhances your experience by keeping you logged in and providing offline capabilities.

3. Google Sign-In

Users may sign in using their Google account. When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google to create and manage your account. We do not receive your Google password or any other sensitive account information. The data received via Google Sign-In is used solely to identify you within HisabDiary and is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

4. Biometric Authentication

HisabDiary uses your device's built-in biometric hardware (fingerprint) solely to verify that you are the authorized user of this device before granting access to your financial data. Biometric data is processed entirely on-device by your Android operating system and is never collected, stored, or transmitted by HisabDiary or any third party.

5. Contact List Access

HisabDiary requires access to your device's contact list (contacts/address book) to allow you to easily populate customer details for ledger entries and payment reminders.

• How We Use It: When you use the contact picker, you can search and select a customer or vendor from your contacts list. The app will fetch the name and phone number of that contact so you can send them transaction details or reminders via SMS/WhatsApp.
• Zero Uploading: The reading and selection of contacts are performed entirely locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, sync, or share your contact list or address book to our servers or any third-party services. Only the name and phone number of the specific contact you select are saved in your account database to associate them with the transactions you record.

6. How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the App to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Authenticate your identity and manage multiple shops.
• Facilitate the recording and reporting of your daily expenses, sales, and profits.
• Improve the functionality and user experience of the application.
• Notify you of updates to the application.
• Respond to customer service requests and provide support.

7. Third-Party Services

We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf. These include:

• Firebase / Google Cloud: Used for backend services, authentication (such as phone/email login, and Google Sign-In), and database management (Firestore) to synchronize your data securely. When you use Google Sign-In, Google's authentication services receive your sign-in request; please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles your data.
• Analytics & Crash Reporting: Services that help us understand App usage and fix crashes.

These third parties are bound by their own privacy policies and are required to protect your data.

8. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

9. Children's Privacy

HisabDiary is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under the age of 13, please contact us so we can take steps to remove that information.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
